The Fellowship of Christian Athletes hosted its annual Fields of Faith event Wednesday night with thousands of area students and athletes attending at Gordon Wood Stadium

Those in attendance heard Christian testimonies from other student athletes, live Christian music, and guest speaker Corbin Young, Brownwood Area FCA director.

Young told the students about his experience of being paralyzed from a disease over four years ago.  Young said that he recovered after several days in the hospital but then had a new commitment for telling others about Jesus Christ.

“I promised God that once I had that tube out of my mouth, I would never shut up,” Young said.  “That is why I am here tonight.”

When the invitation was open, a mass of students came forward to learn more about Jesus and some to rededicate their lives.

Leaders broke into prayer groups to help those who came forward.

This rapidly-growing, interdenominational outreach event was held at more than 475 locations throughout the nation Wednesday night as well.
