Brownwood High School Volleyball Honored

Brownwood High School volleyball athletes were honored with a dinner and awards ceremony Monday, December 10th where several athletes were recognized.

Members of all teams including freshman, junior varsity and varsity were honored with certificates for their hard work and accomplishments.

Head Volleyball Coach Jackie Lang stated that the varsity team was a very good team; in fact that she felt their season record just didn’t give them proper credit for their skills and dedication.

Although our record doesn’t look good on paper, I truly believe we improved every time we got on the court, stated Coach Lang. “This is a fantastic group of kids, please don’t judge them on their record, they are so much better than that could ever explain. We have a tremendously difficult preseason and with the district change, we have a tremendously difficult district. Our district record by no means defines how hard they work or how deserving they are of your praise and admiration.”

The varsity team was made up of seniors Katie Pevehouse, Crystal Hernandez, Makayla Hight, Devin Lyons, Cassandra Mendez, Brooke Montemayor, Mabree Moore, Brooklyn Stewart; juniors Naomi Rosato and Cynthia Ibarra; sophomores Paxton Vaughn, Kayli Waddle, and Jennifer Martinez.
