Brownwood High School inducted 59 new members into the Eisenhower chapter of the National Honor Society Monday evening at the Dorothy McIntosh Fine Arts Center.
Current members and officers along with chapter advisor Mrs. Telise Murray and other school officials were present for the induction ceremony.
Students who are juniors and seniors and have met not only academic credentials but also additional criteria of scholarship, leadership service and character are considered for the honor of being members.
Guest speaker and local veterinarian Dr. Greg Bailey encouraged the new members to use their intelligence, character and drive to be successful in life. He charged them to continue to strive for excellence throughout high school and beyond graduation, using their talents and gifts. Bailey also urged students to do their very best and not compare themselves to others, but to base success on their own accomplishments.
