Livestock Judging Team

The Livestock Judging Team completed the year with the following awards: 2nd in District, 5th in Area, 36th in State, 6th at the Heart of Texas Contest, 12th at San Angelo Stock Show, 30th at Texas State University Invitational, and 71st at Tarleton State University Invitational.
Top team member, Chloe Geye, ranked 1st out of 891 at the Tarleton State Invitational, 2nd in Area, and 2nd out of 351 at State.
Livestock Judging Team evaluates beef cattle, sheep and swine for market values and desirable physical traits. They also market and slaughter grade cattle and rank livestock for breeding purposes, using observed physical characteristics and performance data. There is a written exam and a questions class, in which the judgers have to answer questions about previous classes.
Range Team

The Range Team was 2nd in Area, 8th in State, 2nd at the Taylor County Expo, 5th at the Hamilton Invitational, and 6th at Tarleton State University Invitational.
High individual was Garyn McFall, placing 3rd in Area, 7th at Tarleton State University Invitational, and 9th at Hamilton Invitational. Jeffrey Day was 4th in Area and 6th at Tarleton State University Invitational. Tyler Kemp placed 8th in Area and 4th at Tarleton State University Invitational.
In the Range Evaluation contest, students have to be able to identify and know the characteristics of 75 range plants. Two range sites are evaluated on the
basis of characteristics, degree of grazing utilization, kind of site, and the condition of the range. They then make recommendation of range management practices.
Wildlife Team

The Wildlife Team was ranked 1st in District, 2nd in Area, 4th in Region, 8th in State, 1st at Tarelton State University Invitational, 5th at the Taylor County Expo, 6th in Central Texas Contest, and 10th at Texas State University Invitational.
Top scoring team members were Neil Larremore and Thomas Sikes. Neil Larremore was 3rd in Area, 6th in Region and 4th at the Taylor County Expo.
Thomas Sikes placed 5th in Area, 9th in Region, 10th in State, 8th at Central Texas Contest, 9th at the Taylor County Expo and 9th at the Tarleton State University Invitational.
In the Wildlife Management contest, students identify plant species from a list of 68 and their preferences to the wildlife species listed, assess and recommend habitat management practices, test over safety procedures, game laws and biological facts of game species, and go through a compass and pacing course.
