The Brownwood Independent School District and the Texas Education Agency announced this morning that Brownwood High School was named a National Blue Ribbon School.
This national award recognizes schools that are either academically superior or that demonstrate dramatic and consistent gains in student achievement.
The Texas Education Agency was permitted to nominate 26 public schools for this award and all the nominees were selected to receive the award.
Regarding the award, BISD Superintendent Reece Blincoe said, “A huge congratulations goes out to the
students, teachers and administrators at the High School, what a fantastic job they’ve done over the past 5 years as we reached these tremendous gains that earned us this award.”
Brownwood High School will be among 264 public schools and 50 private school winners from around the country that will be recognized during a ceremony at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. Nov. 2-3.
