The Brownwood High School Band competed at the Heart of Texas Marching Band Contest at Early High School on Saturday, October 10th. The band earned a First Division rating from each of the judges.
The band also won “Best 4-A Band” and the Might Maroon woodwind section won “Best Woodwinds” at the contest.Contest judges praised the band with positive comments. Kirk Woolery stated, “Good Show! Proud of you!”
“Great musical jazz show, well done,” commented Mike Lunney, another contest judge.
“Outstanding solos, great work,” wrote Jim Van Zandt.
“Congratulations to the Lion Band,” said Brownwood High School Band Director, David Lambert. “They did an outstanding job.”
The Mighty Maroon Lion Marching Band was scheduled to compete at the UIL Region 7 Marching Contest Saturday, October 17th at Early High School at 5:45 p.m.
Lambert added, “Please come out and support your hometown band.”
