Brownwood High School has selected the Homecoming Queen nominees and is ready for the festivities to begin.  Five seniors were chosen by their peers, a vote by the student body will determine which of these lovely girls will be the Brownwood High School 2012 Homecoming Queen.

Each with a different personality and style, they all expressed excitement and honor for being chosen by their school as representatives and possibly Homecoming Queen.

This year’s Homecoming Queen will be announced and crowned Friday night at Gordon Wood Stadium when Brownwood faces Sweetwater.

Below are short biographies of each nominee:

SarahFaetche

Sarah Faetche

Sarah is the daughter of Martha Faetche and Chris Faetche, and has an older sister, Claire.  She was born and raised in Brownwood.  As a senior, she is a member of Student Council and National Honor Society and is involved in various community activities. In her junior year, Sarah competed on the FFA wildlife team, and as a sophomore and freshman she was a member of the varsity tennis team.  Sarah enjoys cooking, art, the outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends.  She will graduate in December of 2012 Magna Cum Laude and plans to pursue a career in either psychology or business at Texas A&M University.

CarolineKirbo

Caroline Kirbo

Caroline is the daughter of Demijon and Donna Kirbo and has a younger brother Jon Kirbo. Caroline attends Austin Avenue Church of Christ and is involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She also participates in Lady Lion Track, is a member of the Spirit Club, National Honors Society for 2 years, Choices Mentoring Program for 2 years , and Varsity Cheer for the Brownwood Lions. Kirbo has been given the academic award, Magna Cum Laude, the past 3 yrs of her high school career, and has been selected as the October Rotarian from the Rotary Club. She plans to attend Texas Tech University and major in Health Science.

SydneyLaws

Sydney Laws

Sydney is the daughter of Scott and Sharon Laws.  A member of the National Honor Society and Choices Program, Sydney has also been a Magna Cum laude student for three years.  She has been a Brownwood High School cheerleader for four years and her senior year, is serving as captain.  She is very involved in sports, running varsity track all four years, is a three time softball District MVP, and was named Texas Sportswriter’s Association 1st Team All-State Pitcher.  Sydney has been recruited to play softball for Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina where she plans to major in Criminal Justice.

DevinLyons

Devin Lyons

Devin is the daughter of Michael and Shannon Lyons.  She has a younger sister, Jenna, and younger brother, Collin.  Devin is a member of First United Methodist Church.  She is also a member of the National Honor Society and has been given the academic award of Magna Cum Laude the past three years. Devin is involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has participated in the Choices program for 2 years.  She has been a member of the varsity volleyball team for three years and is part of the BHS theater production Peter Pan.  Devin plans to attend University of Texas and major in physical therapy.

MabreeMoore

Mabree Moore

Mabree Moore is the daughter of Mitch and Julie Moore.  She has two siblings, sister Makenlee and brother McLane.  She is a member of Austin Avenue Church of Christ.  A member of the National Honor Society and serving as Secretary, Mabree has been recognized as a Cum Laude student for the past 3 years.  She is also been involved in the Choices Program for 2 years, along with being a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Mabree has been a Brownwood High School cheerleader for four years and has been on the varsity volleyball team for two years.  She is also involved in BHS musical and theatric productions of Oklahoma, High School Musical and Peter Pan.  Mabree plans to attend Abilene Christian University and major in Interior Design.
