Brownwood City Manager Emily Crawford released the following information regarding the mid-day flood status and reopening of roadways in the Brownwood area Thursday.
Water levels in the Pecan Bayou and Adam’s Brach have been receding, and are not expected to rise any further.
As of 11:30 am on Thursday, July 9, 2015, City of Brownwood and TxDOT are opening several roads. Highway 377 South (Main St.) inside two lanes are open and Highway 67/84 (Commerce St.) is open all four lanes. Several private parking lots are still flooded. Do not drive around barricades, and enter flooded parking lots at your own risk.
