Brownwood Fire Department is hosting a confined space rescue certification class this week and Wednesday at the BFD training field.
Firemen from San Antonio, Ballinger and Bangs were participating along with 7 Brownwood Firemen. The BFD crewmembers involved in the training were James Lemond, Brent Bruton, Jody Horton, Jesse Castillo, Bradley Gilmore, Ron Groom and Kyle Whitley.
From the top of the train car, crews worked to save a mock victim from inside the car by lowering two rescuers through a hole on top. The victim was lifted up carefully on a rescue basket then lowered off the side to the ground.
The training will continue through this week according to Fire Chief Del Albright.
Pictured above are the firemen on both the three story training structure and the train car used in live fire rescue and mock rescue training.
