Monday, September 1
*2:23 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 1800 block of Pecos. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a BBQ grill that had caught on fire. The owner had the fire out upon the fire department’s arrival.
Wednesday, September 3
*3:35 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 1700 block of Avenue B. Firefighters arrived on scene to find nothing showing. Firefighters investigated and found a small flame coming from a gas valve behind a heater. The gas was shut off to the house.
*6:24 PM –BFD was dispatched to a public service call in the 1600 block of Avenue K. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a large tree had broken during high winds and was blocking the road. Firefighters controlled traffic until crews from the city street department arrived on scene.
Thursday, September 4
*2:19 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 1800 block of 8th Street. The incident was determined to be arcing power lines in the trees. Oncor was notified.*5:15 PM – BFD responded to a single vehicle rollover accident in the 3100 block of W Hwy 67. Firefighters performed extrication and assisted with loading the patient for transport.
Friday, September 5
*8:50 AM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the 2900 block of Austin Avenue.
*9:06 AM – BFD was called to a fire in the 2800 block of N. Hwy 279. The incident was determined to be a dumpster fire. Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke billowing from a large metal dumpster. Fire crews pulled the red line and extinguished the fire, which the Fire Marshal arrived on scene to investigate.
Saturday, September 6
*10:37 AM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 3200 block of Coggin Avenue. Extrication was performed to remove the vehicle’s occupant who was then loaded for transport.
*10:24 PM – BFD was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the 1600 block of Durham Avenue.
Sunday, September 7
*7:13 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 1000 block of Avenue I. The incident was determined to be tangled power lines.
