Monday, September 12
*3:54 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding an outside fire at a city park. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a small cooking fire.
*4:45 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1600 block of 8th Street. Firefighters responded to a call of power lines making loud noises. Firefighters arrived on scene to find wires tangled in a tree. Oncor was notified.
Tuesday, September 13
*2:11 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a single vehicle rollover in the 3100 block of US Highway 67. Fire crews were cancelled en route due to no injuries.
*8:50 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a hazardous materials call in the area of 2nd Street and Avenue J. Fire crews were dispatched to investigate a smell of natural gas. Firefighters located the source and notified Atmos.Thursday, September 15
*8:22 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1200 block of Center Avenue, Howard Payne University’s Jennings Hall, regarding a smoke alarm activation. Fire crews arrived on scene to find nothing showing. Firefighters investigated the building and found some occupants vaping had activated the alarm. Alarm was silenced.
Saturday, September 17
*10:17 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to the 900 block of Austin Avenue, where firefighters arrived on scene to find a kitten was stuck in part of the overpass. Firefighters rescued the kitten.
Sunday, September 18
*10:40 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched a motor vehicle accident in the 100 block of S. Greenleaf Street where a vehicle had struck a building. Firefighters arrived on scene to find all occupants out of the vehicle and heavy damage to the building. EMS arrived on scene and took over patient care.
*2:58 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a single vehicle rollover accident in the 5400 block of County Road 234. Fire crews arrived on scene with Texas Department of Public Safety and Brown County Sherriff’s deputies to find a single vehicle resting on its roof and no occupant on scene.
