Monday, August 17

*4:41 PM – The Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1700 block of Elizabeth.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a gas meter had been struck by a vehicle.  Gas had been shut off by a resident and Atmos was notified.

Tuesday, August 18

*4:42 PM – The Brownwood Fire Department responded to a hazardous materials call in the 400 block of Commerce.  The incident was determined to be a flammable liquid spill.  Firefighters controlled and confined the spill.

Wednesday, August 19

*3:22 PM – The Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 600 block 6th Street.   Fire crews responded to a grass fire in a backyard.  The fire had spread to a tree and a dog kennel.  The fire was out upon arrival.  Firefighters wet down the area.

*8:07 PM – The Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2600 block of Waco Avenue where firefighters responded to smoke in the area.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find nothing showing.  The units were searched the area and no smoke or any evidence of fire was found in the area.

Thursday, August 20

*9:04 AM – The Brownwood Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident with no injuries in the 900 block of Coleman Avenue involving the vehicle striking a utility pole.

*11:18 AM – The Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the area of Indian Creek & Milam Drive.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a live wire on the ground sparking and burning grass.  Oncor was notified.

*11:25 AM – The Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2900 block of Morris Sheppard where a transformer had been struck by lightning and was sparking.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find no visible sparking but several fuses which were blown.  Oncor was notified.

Friday, August 21

*5:10 PM – The Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the area of Coggin Avenue and Vine Street.  Firefighters responded to a small fuel spill on the road.   Absorbent was used to clean up the spill.

Saturday, August 22

*5:36 PM – The Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in the area of Farm Market Road 45 and Indian Creek.  Fire crews were dispatched to a report of smoke in the area. Nothing was found.
