Monday, August 8

*7:49 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident in the 1500 block of Main Street, at the Truman Harlow underpass.   Fire crews arrived on scene to find a motorcycle had collided with the concrete wall and the single occupant was injured.  Fire Crews provided trauma assessment and basic care.  Air Evac was advised to launch and fire crews assisted with patient care until Air Evac landed.

*2:11 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 6100 block of Airport Road.  Fire crews arrived on scene with Early Volunteer Fire Department where they found a small grass fire at the airport.  Firefighters began to extinguish the fire with the assistance of Early, May, Lake Bridge, and Zephyr Volunteer Fire Departments and the fire was contained.

Tuesday, August 9

*2:37 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 2000 block of South US Hwy. 377.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find a vehicle fire that had burned itself out.  Fire Crews pulled the red line to cool down the truck motor and to make sure the fire was out.

*7:15 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two vehicle accident in the 900 block of W. Austin Avenue.  Fire crews arrived on scene with PD and EMS to find the roadway blocked by the accident and one vehicle was on its side.  All occupants were out of the vehicles and had no injuries.

*8:33 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2700 block of FM 1176.  Fire crews arrived on scene with Brookesmith and Winchell Volunteer Fire Departments to provide mutual aid for a grass/brush fire.  The fire was found around a very large pit with a fire burning in it.  The fire was extinguished and mopped up.

Wednesday, August 10

*8:23 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 700 block of C.C. Woodson.  Firefighters responded to a log smoldering from a previous grass fire.  Fire Crews applied water to the log and the surrounding area.

Thursday, August 11

*11:45 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries in the 1600 block of Good Shepherd.

*4:14 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 6500 block of County Road 327 for a brush/grass fire.  Fire crews arrived on scene with Early Fire Department to extinguish a grass/brush fire and structure on the ground.

*8:34 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 500 block of Bluffview Drive regarding an unknown type of fire inside an apartment.  Fire crews arrived on scene with police to find nothing showing.  After an investigation, nothing was found.

Friday, August 12

*8:22 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries at Austin and Coggin Avenues.

*4:55 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 3700 block 1st Street.  Firefighters responded to a fire alarm activation.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find the property owner in the yard advising a pot holder left on the stove had activated the alarm and there was no fire.

*6:38 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 1000 block of Vincent.  Firefighters arrived on scene with nothing showing; however, the resident reported the smell of burning wires.  After investigating, nothing was found.  Owner was advised to contact an electrician.

Saturday, August 13

*3:31 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2300 block of 11th Street regarding lightening striking a transformer.  After investigating, no fire hazard was found.

Sunday, August 14

*7:18 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire on N. Main Blvd. responded for a large unknown fire.  Fire units arrived to find a pile of ashes on ground but no fire.  The property owner stated he was burning trash. Fire crews advised the owner of the burn ban.

*10:44 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 900 block of Vine Street.  Fire crews arrived to find all occupants were out of the vehicles and one occupant injured.

*3:34 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call in the 1200 block of Hall Street regarding smoke in the residence.  Fire crews arrived to find nothing showing; however, there was a strong smell of smoke.  Firefighters made entry with the thermal camera and a smoldering mattress was pulled from a bedroom and placed outside.  A ventilation fan was set up to remove smoke from residence.
