Monday, August 3

*11:45 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1700 block of 2nd Street at Avenue J.

*4:10 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire at a property in the 800 block of County Road 135.  The incident was determined to be a brush and grass mixture.  Bangs Volunteer Fire Department was on scene fighting grass fire which was approximately 1 acre in size.

*9:14 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1100 block of Riverside Drive where a bush in the drive through at Taco Bueno on fire.  Workers put the fire out with extinguishers.

Tuesday, August 4

*3:14 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the area of Asbury and Stonebrook.  The incident was determined to be an outside rubbish fire.

*10:04 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in the 700 block of Oak Trail Drive. The incident was determined to be a false alarm.

*4:45 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 2700 block of Elizabeth.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find residents preparing to grill when a leak in the propane hose caused a flame and fire.

Wednesday, August 5

*3:00 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2800 block of Avenue C.  Fire crews responded to an alarm activation.  Firefighters inspected the residence but nothing was found.

*1:14 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 3500 block of 3rd Street. Firefighters were dispatched for general fire alarm activation and arrived on scene to find nothing showing.  The incident was determined to be caused by an old battery in the detector.

*6:45 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 2000 block of Coggin Avenue where a motorcycle was on fire.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a motorcycle fully involved. The fire extinguished by fire personnel.

Thursday, August 6

*3:29 PM – Brownwood Fire Department  was dispatched to a fire call in the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding an electrical line shorting out and arcing, causing a brush fire behind the building.  Oncor cut power and all occupants were evacuated.

Friday, August 7

*8:37 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 300 block of Commerce.  Firefighters responded to a car on fire.  The fire was out upon arrival.

*9:34 PM – Brownwood Fire Department  was dispatched to a fire call in the 3800 block of Avenue D regarding the smell of burnt plastic in the home.  Upon arrival, firefighters found the air conditioner was plugged in to a multi plug, which was plugged into an extension cord that was plugged into another multi plug at the outlet.  This caused the wall outlet to over heat. The incident was determined to be smoke/odor removal.

*1:09 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on W. US Hwy 84.  Assistance from firefighters was requested by Texas Department of Public Safety to extricate a driver with no injuries.

*8:57 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 900 block of Hall Street.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a single story wood structure fully involved.  The fire was knocked down and a primary search was performed with nothing found.
