Reports released for the period of July 4-10, 2016 from the Brownwood Fire Department include 42 medical emergencies, 13 fire calls, and 6 motor vehicle accidents.

Monday, July 4
*12:34 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 3200 block of County Road 237. Fire crews arrived on the scene to find an approximately 1/4-acre grass fire started by fireworks. Firefighters pulled the red line and the fire was extinguished.
*12:41 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 1700 block of Main Blvd. Firefighters responded to a dumpster which was on fire in the alley. Upon arrival the fire had mostly burned out; however, the dumpster was a loss.
*4:51 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2500 block of Songbird Circle. Fire crews arrived on scene to find nothing showing. Contact was made with the staff and they were informed there was not a fire. Fire Crews were unable to reset the fire alarm and advised the staff to contact their alarm company.
*2:24 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersection of 9th Street & Avenue D. Firefighters provided medical assessment and no care was provided.*9:42 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 4400 block of S Hwy 377. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a fire pit. There was no danger and all crews cleared from the scene.
*10:29 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries in the 400 block of W. Commerce. Fire crews arrived on scene to find everyone out of the vehicle.
*10:51 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2300 block of N. Main. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a male burning wood and trash in his backyard. Firefighters advised him of city ordinance and had the fire extinguished.
Tuesday, July 5
*2:26 AM – Brownwood Fire Department were dispatched to a fire call in the 4500 block of County Road 295. Fire crews responded in mutual aid for a large grass fire. Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire spreading fast and worked the fire until it was extinguished.
*1:44 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the 800 block of W. Commerce.
*4:30 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 4500 block of County Road 295, regarding the rekindle of a grass fire. Firefighters arrived on scene to extinguish the grass fire.
Wednesday, July 6
*12:06 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries at Austin Avenue and Avenue D.
*1:40 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersection of Baker and Main Streets.
*5:03 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in the 600 block of Oak Park. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a small debris pile smoldering because of an electrical line that was arcing. Firefighters sprayed the area. Because of a power surge, the homeowner stated the microwave was smoking. Firefighters investigated the home and turned off the breaker to the microwave.
Thursday, July 7
*3:58 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in the 900 Brewster Street. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a trash can with pool supplies on fire. The red line was pulled and the fire was extinguished.
*4:56 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 4400 block of County Road 153. Fire crews arrived on scene to find lots of smoke coming from the attic and vents of the residence. Firefighters pulled hose and went through the front door and began to extinguish the fire.
Friday, July 8
*10:14 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no at the area of Bluffview Drive and Cordell Street.
Sunday, July 9
*8:58 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 900 block of Avenue W. Fire crews arrived on scene to find that the fire was out; however, the power was still on and the breaker box was still arcing. The residence was searched with a thermal camera with nothing found.
*2:42 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1100 block of Riverside Drive. Firefighters responded to the Hampton Inn for assistance to reset the alarm system.
*8:54 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1100 of W. Baker Street. Fire crews responded for power lines arcing, but there was no fire. Oncor was notified.
