Monday, May 23
*2:09 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries in the 600 block of W. Commerce. Firefighters obtained vitals and performed assessment until EMS arrived on scene. The occupant was loaded with EMS for transport.
*4:01 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1700 block of Avenue B, regarding a possible grass fire. Fire crews arrived on scene to find the homeowner was burning a stump in the front yard. The homeowner was informed of the city burn codes and was advised to extinguish the fire.
*6:55 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2700 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding a transformer which was arcing. Fire crews found nothing upon arrival and Oncor was notified.
Tuesday, May 24
*10:36 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to an agency assist in the 1200 block of Victoria Street to assist the police department with making entry into a residence.
*12:47 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 900 block of Fisk regarding a vehicle fire. The fire was out upon arrival; however, there was damage to the center console and wires of the vehicle.
Wednesday, May 25
*11:54 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of 9th Street and Coggin Avenue.
*3:07 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident in the area of Main Street and Austin Avenue. Fire crews arrived on scene to find occupants still in their vehicles, however, there were no injuries.
*6:02 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 100 block of Bluffview Drive regarding a fire in the alley way. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a small fire burning in the ditch, which firefighters extinguished.
Thursday, May 26
*10:09 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in the 800 block of Bailey Street. Firefighters arrived on scene to find an alarm sounding inside the building. The building was clear of occupants and the incident was determined to be a malfunctioning detector due to dust.
*11:34 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at Coggin and Austin Avenues. Engine 2 was returning to the fire station and rolled up to discover the intersection blocked by a minor two vehicle accident. Fire crews provided basic care and assisted with clearing the intersection.
*12:13 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a minor two-vehicle accident in the 1400 block of Avenue B. Firefighters arrived to find all occupants out of the vehicles. EMS transported one of the occupants for evaluation and treatment.
Friday, May 27
*6:46 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to an accident involving a single vehicle accident which struck a tree at the intersection of Coggin Avenue and Shaw Drive. Firefighters arrived as EMS was providing care to the occupant.
Saturday, May 28
*11:10 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 1500 block of Austin Avenue. Firefighters provided care until EMS arrived on scene and assisted with loading the patient for transport.
*9:35 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries in the 3500 block of South Hwy 377. Firefighters arrived on scene with EMS attending to patient. Fire Crews assisted with loading the patient for transport.
*10:28 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the area of Simmons Street and Trigg for a large unknown type of fire. Upon arrival, nothing was found; however, after searching the area, a small fire in an open pit was found. The resident was informed of city ordinance and he extinguished the fire.
*3:09 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding an activated smoke detector and a smell of smoke in residence. Upon arrival, nothing was found. Further investigation determined that the carbon monoxide detector battery needed to be replaced. Maintenance was advised to change the battery.
