Reports of interest that the Brownwood Fire Department responded to include:

*8:11 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 400 block of CC Woodson.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a man camping out with a campfire inside city limits.  The fire was extinguished.

Wednesday, April 29

*8:29 PM – BFD was called to a hazardous materials call in the 1600 block of Stewart Street.  Fire crews responded to a possible gas leak.  The gas was shut off and Atmos was contacted.

Friday, May 1

*1:35 AM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 700 block of W. Commerce Street.  Firefighters responded to the report of a fire and explosion at a commercial building.  Fire crews arrived on scene to see smoke and fire coming from front door with heavy smoke in the building.  Firefighters extinguished the fire, the vent fan was set up and overhaul began.  The fire marshal was on scene to investigate.

*4:46 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident on N. Highway 183 which involved one vehicle that was on fire.  Firefighters extinguished the car fire and extricated the occupant from the vehicle.

*5:12 PM – BFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the area of W. Commerce and Romines Street involving a vehicle striking a bicycle.  The bicyclist was checked for injuries and provided first aid.

*5:31 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident in the area of 14th Street and Avenue K.  Both vehicles sustained heavy damage, according to the report.  Firefighters checked for injuries and assisted EMS with loading an occupant for transport.

Sunday, May 3

*8:03 PM – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident on County Road 237 single vehicle.   Fire crews arrived on scene with Brown County Sheriff’s deputies, Texas Department of Public Safety and Allegiance.  Firefighters assisted with securing the occupant for transport.
