Monday, May 16
*3:12 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2600 block of FM 2525 to provide mutual aid with Early Fire Department for a possible structure fire. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a 2-story wood frame structure with nothing showing. Firefighters made entrance and found light smoke. Fire crews searched for fire and found nothing. A thermal camera was used to search the entire residence. An AC unit was found to be malfunctioning.
*10:20 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to the area of Asbury & 10th Street. Fire crews were dispatched regarding a strong smell of gas in the area. Firefighters arrived on scene, but were not able to detect anything.
Tuesday, May 17
*2:59 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to assist on an EMS call; however, when they arrived on scene, they found a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle which had fled the scene. Fire crews attended to the pedestrian and assisted with loading the pedestrian for transport.
*5:49 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident in the 1100 block of County Road 233 where the vehicle had struck a tree. Firefighters arrived to find all occupants were out of the vehicle and that there were no injuries.
Wednesday, May 18
*2:51 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 400 W. Commerce Street. Fire crews arrived on scene to find EMS with occupants, two of which were loaded for transport.
Friday, May 20
*11:10 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 600 block of Center Avenue regarding the smell of smoke. Firefighters arrived on scene of a 3-story brick structure to find nothing showing. The thermal imaging camera was used to investigate with no hazard found.
Sunday, May 22
*2:26 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 3100 block of W. Hwy 67. BFD was requested by Bangs Volunteer Fire Department to assist with the extrication of an occupant from vehicle. Firefighters used rescue tools to cut vehicle so that driver could be removed from the vehicle. The driver was removed from vehicle and loaded with EMS.
*4:01 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of 9th Street and Avenue J.
