Tuesday, April 26
*11:43 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding a child who was locked inside a vehicle. The door was quickly unlocked and the child unharmed.
Wednesday, April 27
*3:38 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor two-vehicle accident involving a vehicle striking a parked car in the 2000 block of 4th Street. Firefighters arrived on scene with police to find there were no injuries.
*7:54 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersection of Austin Avenue and Melwood Street.
*9:16 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at 14th Street and Magnolia. Fire crews arrived on scene with police to find all occupants out of the vehicles and that there were no injuries.
*8:01 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a possible structure fire in the 1700 block of 11th Street. Firefighters arrived to find nothing showing. Fire crews investigated and found a heating ventilation and cooling unit was smoking and had filled the house with smoke. The residence was searched with nothing found and the ventilation fan was used to remove smoke from the structure.Thursday, April 28
*8:26 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 700 block of Avenue D. Fire crews responded to an open fire behind a residence, that the home owner burning trash on the ground. The home owner was advised of city ordinance and he agreed to extinguish the fire.
Friday, April 29
*8:25 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 4400 block of Westridge Drive. Firefighters arrived on scene to see smoke showing at the front door. Firefighters pulled the charged line and advanced inside to the laundry room to find the dryer was on fire. The fire was extinguished and the dryer was removed from the home. The thermal camera was used to search for fire extension but nothing was found. Fans were set up to ventilate the house and overhaul was completed.
Saturday, April 30
*9:03 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a single vehicle rollover accident with ejection in the area of Burnett Road and Morris Sheppard Drive. Firefighters arrived with EMS and helped to load the subject onto a backboard and into the ambulance for transport.
Sunday, May 1
*11:27 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2400 block of 1st Street regarding a citizen’s complaint of an unattended fire. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fire in an approved fire pit.
