Monday, May 9
*4:16 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to the 2100 block of Belmeade Street regarding a small grass fire. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a small fire in the alleyway caused by a blown fuse on a utility pole. The fire was extinguished and Oncor was notified.
Tuesday, May 10
*11:43 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2300 block of 13th Street regarding arcing electrical lines. Fire crews arrived on scene to find power lines arcing in the alley and established a safe area until Oncor arrived.
Wednesday, May 11
*8:22 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to the 2300 block of Magnolia regarding a child locked inside a vehicle. Firefighters quickly unlocked the door of the vehicle.
*12:13 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 400 block of E. Chandler. Firefighters arrived on scene to find power lines arcing in the trees. Fire crews waited for Oncor to arrive on scene.
Thursday, May 12
*7:13 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to the 4500 block of Delwood Drive regarding a power line arcing. Firefighters arrived on scene and determined no hazard existed. Fire crews notified Oncor that trees will need to be trimmed.
*10:28 AM – Brownwood Fire Department were dispatched to the County Road 236 regarding a home that had been struck by lightning. Firefighters arrived on scene to find nothing showing; however, firefighters searched the residence with the thermal image camera and checked for hotspots. Lightning had broken the concrete where it had struck the home. Home owner was advised to contact an electrician. Firefighters did not find any fires or hotspots.
*1:41 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call in the area of Waco and Walnut Streets regarding power line arcing. Fire crews arrived on scene to be informed by owner that tree limbs were causing lines to arc. Oncor was notified.
*9:03 PM – Brownwood Fire Department Fire was dispatched to the 2400 block of Belmeade Street regarding a gas meter which had been struck in an alley. Firefighters arrived on scene with Brownwood Police Department and were advised that Atmos had been contacted. Firefighters shut the gas off without incident.
Friday, May 13
*3:18 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of 9th Street and Avenue I. Firefighters applied absorbent on an antifreeze spill.
*7:52 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with a possible fire in the 300 block of E. Commerce. Firefighters arrived on scene to find all occupants were out of the vehicles and that there was no fire.
*8:24 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to the 400 block of W. Commerce. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a child locked inside a running vehicle. Firefighters unlocked the door and returned the child to parents.
Sunday, May 15
*5:57 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a water rescue call in the 500 block of CC Woodson at the Pecan Bayou. Firefighters were dispatched for a woman swimming in the Pecan Bayou. Firefighters arrived on scene with Early Police Department, firefighters put on life jackets and walked to the edge of the water. The female swam out of the water and advised she was just swimming. The female was advised of the hazardous conditions to which she agreed and then cleared the scene.
