Monday, January 11
*4:02 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a 3-vehicle accident at the intersection of Main and Adams Streets. All but one of the occupants were out of the vehicles. Firefighters assisted with loading the patient for transport.
*6:38 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a single vehicle accident in the area of Coleman Avenue and Comanche Street. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a single vehicle had struck a utility pole. Firefighters began extrication and assisted with packaging and loading the patient for transport.
Tuesday, January 12
*3:04 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the 600 block of W. Commerce.*5:00 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the 1600 block of Avenue E.
Wednesday, January 13
*12:27 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to the 1600 block of Melwood regarding residents locked out of home with a child inside. Firefighters arrived on scene to find that the occupants had already opened the door.
*4:16 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 1100 block of San Benito. Fire crews arrived to find the occupant had extinguished the fire and was ventilating the house. Firefighters looked for fire extension with the thermal camera. Nothing was found and the house was cleared of smoke.
*9:38 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 900 block of Main Street. Firefighters investigated a strange smell in the building, using a gas detector. The odor was determined to be the smell of sewage.
*7:17 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 100 block of Bluffview regarding the smell of something burning. Upon arrival, there was no smoke showing, but the smell of burnt wires was detected and tracked to a plug in the bedroom. The breaker was shut off and fire crews instructed the residents to call an electrician.
Thursday, January 14
*10:17 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident with injuries in the 1300 block of W. Austin Avenue. Firefighters assisted EMS with packaging and loading the occupant of the vehicle for transport.
*11:53 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a fire call in the 100 block of Brentwood to smell of something burning. Firefighters arrived on scene with no smoke or flames visible. A thermal camera was used to search the residence. The source of smell was found inside the breaker for the heating unit. Homeowners were advised to contact their heating/cooling company.
Friday, January 15
*4:10 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the 200 block of E. Commerce.
Saturday, January 16
*3:47 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a lock-in at a residence in the 2400 block of 1st Street. Firefighters arrived on scene with the police department to find two children, who were secured in their car seats, locked in a vehicle. Firefighters unlocked the car.
Sunday, January 17
*1:32 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a hazardous materials call in the 1500 block of Main Street. Firefighters arrived on scene to find approximately 5 gallons of hydraulic fluid had been spilled on the Truman Harlow overpass. Absorbent was applied by firefighters who then notified TxDOT.
*5:05 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 300 block of W. Adams Street. Fire units arrived on scene to find the owner of residence was burning on a metal trash can. The homeowner was advised of city ordinance.
