Monday, January 12

*6:10 PM – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident in the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue involving the vehicle striking a utility pole. Oncor was notified.

Wednesday, January 14

*1:48 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 200 block of Slayden.  The fire was determined to be an authorized burn at the railroad yard, fire units were canceled en route.

*9:09 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 1700 block of 7th Street.  Firefighters responded to the report of a pickup truck on fire.  Firefighter extinguished fire with the bumper line. (Pictured at top, photo contributed).

Thursday, January 15

*7:56 AM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident with entrapment in the 4900 block of US Hwy 377 South.  Firefighters arrived on scene and began extraction.

Friday, January 16

*2:24 AM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the1500 block of Terrace Drive. Fire crews responded to the report of a burning smell.  Firefighters arrived on scene to determine that the odor was coming from a refrigerator.  Firefighters unplugged the refrigerator and informed the tenant to call maintenance.

*7:42 AM – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident in the 2100 block of 14th Street involving a vehicle striking a home.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find damage to the front of the house.

*12:14 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 1700 block of 4th Street.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find the smoke was coming from a BBQ pit being used to separate aluminum from copper.  The occupant of the home was advised of city burn codes.

*6:11 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the area of 2nd Street and Avenue I. Fire crews responded to the report of smoke in the area.  The incident was determined to be someone cooking in a BBQ pit.

Saturday, January 17

*10:25 AM – BFD was called to a fire in the 2400 block of Songbird Circle.  The incident was determined to be an unintentional alarm activation.

*4:03 PM – BFD was dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the 2500 block of Main Street.  A gas line had been struck and Atmos was notified.

*8:50 PM – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the area of 3rd Street and Avenue K.

*10:44 PM – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the 2900 block of North Hwy 279 at Days Hill.  The incident was determined to be an outside trash fire, which was extinguished.

*11:17 PM – BFD responded to a single vehicle accident at Austin and Hall Streets involving a vehicle striking a guard rail.  One patient was transported by EMS.

Sunday, January 18

*3:40 PM – BFD was called to a fire in the 1700 block of Magnolia.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from an apartment, but no visible flames.  Firefighters determined the kitchen was the origin of the fire.  Fire crews check apartment with thermal camera for extension of fire, but none was found and overhaul was started.
