Sunday, September 21

*12:53 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 3300 block of Austin Avenue.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find EMS with the driver of motorcycle. Fire crews helped with traffic control.

Friday, September 25

*10:48 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at 4th Street and Roselawn. One patient was transported by EMS.

Monday, September 28

*7:26 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at Coggin Avenue & Highway 377. The vehicles were removed from the road.

*7:41 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in the 2800 block of Cleburne.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find the home owners burning construction debris.  The home owners were informed of the city ordinance prohibiting open fires inside the city limits and the fire was extinguished.

Tuesday, September 29

*12:14 PM – Brownwood Fire Department  responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 500 block of W. Commerce involving a single vehicle striking a building.  One patient was transported by EMS.

*3:18 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident in the 2700 block of Milam Drive. One patient was transported by EMS.

Friday, October 2

*9:48 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 300 block of Bluffview Drive.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find nothing showing. Upon entering the building, the smell of burned lint was detected.  The incident was determined to be an air conditioning unit which was turned on heat mode for a period of time.

*10:58 PM – Brownwood Fire Department  was called to an agency assist in the 300 block of E. Commerce where they assisted the police department a ladder to access the top of a building.

Saturday, October 3

11:09 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to an alarm activation in the 3700 block of 1st Street.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find nothing showing and were advised that the smoke detector had activated while the resident was cooking breakfast.

*1:36 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 100 block of Riverside Drive.  Firefighters arrived on scene for a fire alarm.  A maintenance worker stated that while working on air conditioning coils, the alarm was activated and there was no fire.

Monday, October 5

*8:26 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2200 block of 11th Street. Firefighters arrived on scene to find nothing showing; however, after investigating the interior, fire crews found light smoke in a bathroom.  A ceiling fan had caught fire and burned itself out.  The fan was removed from the attic and a fan was set up to remove smoke from the house.

Tuesday, October 6

*7:25 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident near W. Austin Avenue and Beaver Street where a vehicle had struck a guardrail.  The driver was loaded for transport.

*8:02 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 1700 block of Melwood.  The incident was determined to be an outside rubbish fire.

Wednesday, October 7

*8:31 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call at Austin Avenue and Main Street.  Firefighters were dispatched for smoke in the area.  The incident was determined to be a controlled burn at the water treatment facility.

*2:38 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a grass fire in the 2900 block of Milam Drive.

*2:58 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at Belmeade and Slayden Streets.  All occupants were out of the vehicle upon fire crews’ arrival and there were no injuries.

*4:40 PM – Brownwood Fire Department  was dispatched to a public service call in the 100 block of Quail Run to investigate the smell of electrical wires burning. Fire crews used the thermal camera to investigate.  Firefighters were unable to find any hazard; however, the breaker to the heating and the air conditioning was turned off and firefighters advised the home owner to call a repairman.

Thursday, October 8

*6:15 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at Austin Avenue and Main Street.

*5:14 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the 300 block of Main Street.

Friday, October 9

*7:46 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 2700 block of Austin Avenue.  Fire crews were dispatched for heavy smoke in the area; however, firefighters arrived on scene to find a construction crew using the street sweeper and there was no fire.

*3:24 PM – Brownwood Fire Department  was dispatched to a fire call in the 4800 block of County Road 136 to assist Bangs Volunteer Fire Department with a grass fire.  The fire was out upon firefighters’ arrival.

*8:47 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with minor injuries in the 600 block of Commerce Street.

Saturday, October  10

*7:23 AM – Brownwood Fire Department   responded to a two-vehicle accident at Hwy 45 Indian Creek Road.  One patient was transported by EMS.

Sunday, October 11

*6:42 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Commerce Street regarding a two-vehicle accident with no injuries.

*9:54 PM – Brownwood Fire Department   were called to a fire in the 300 block of 2nd Street.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find a 1 acre grass fire which was extinguished by firefighters.

Monday, October 12

*7:52 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to the 2400 block of Asbury regarding the smell of gas in the area.  After an investigation of the area, no hazard was found.

*10:15 AM – Brownwood Fire Department   was dispatched to a fire call at Main Street and W. Commerce regarding hazardous materials spilled on roadway causing a hazard for passing cars.  Absorbent was used to soak up the spill.

*4:05 PM – Brownwood Fire Department   responded to the area of Crockett Drive and Hwy 377 South regarding a two-vehicle accident.  Firefighters began patient care and helped with traffic control.

Thursday, October 15

*1:08 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at the intersection of Austin Avenue and Avenue K.

*3:03 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 1800 block of 13th Street.  Fire crews responded to a structure fire but arrived on scene to find nothing showing. Occupants were complaining of smoke inhalation and EMS arrived for assessment.  The residence was searched with thermal camera with nothing showing. It was determined that an extension cord had overheated and popped.  All cords were unplugged.

*3:32 PM – Brownwood Fire Department   was called to a fire in the 9600 block of County Road 201.  Firefighters arrived on scene with multiple fire crews to control a large wildland fire.

Friday, October 16

*5:13 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at W. Lee Street and Carnegie.

*9:27 PM – Brownwood Fire Department  responded to a one-vehicle accident in the 2300 block of Vine Street involving a motorcycle with injuries.   The driver was loaded into the ambulance for transport.

Saturday, October 17

*12:53 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a single vehicle accident with no injuries in the 200 block of E. Commerce, in McDonald’s parking lot.

*12:03 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in the 700 block of CC Woodson involving two vehicles.

*4:16 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to the area of FM 586 and County Road 231 regarding a brush fire.
