Monday, October 3
*10:55 AM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a two vehicle accident at Baker & Main Streets. Firefighters arrived on scene to find the roadway clear and that there were no injuries.
Tuesday, October 4
*8:48 PM – Brownwood Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 2300 block of Austin Avenue involving a vehicle colliding with a motorcycle. Fire crews arrived on scene with EMS and police and assisted with loading the patient for transport.
*10:31 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2600 block of 14th Street. Fire crews responded to a smell of natural gas in the area. Firefighters arrived on scene and noticed a slight smell of the nearby asphalt plant. All the surrounding area was searched; however, nothing was found.
Wednesday, October 5
*10:06 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 2000 block of Brady Avenue. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a pile of pool chemical on the ground. There was no fire.*11:45 PM – Brownwood Fire Department was called to a fire in the 1100 block of Fisk. Firefighters arrived on scene to find an alarm sounding and the building evacuated. Upon investigation, firefighters discovered that someone smoking a vapor cigarette had caused the alarm to activate.
Thursday, October 6
*9:43 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1600 block of Lane Street. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a single story wood frame home with nothing showing and the occupants out of the home. Fire Crews made entry to find the fire extinguished in a back room of the house. The owner had poured water on the mattress and extinguished the fire. The mattress and box spring were removed from the home and the thermal camera was used to check for extension in the wall. Nothing was found. The ventilation fan was used to remove smoke from the house. Lifeguard was on scene to assist with occupants.
Friday, October 7
*5:57 AM – Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to a fire call in the 1800 block of 1st Street regarding power lines sparking in trees. Firefighters arrived on scene to find power lines arcing above the intersection. Fire Crews remained on scene until Frontier and Oncor arrived on scene.
