Brownwood is featured prominently in the newest issue of Hill Country Magazine with a cover story about the Lyric Theatre as well as a spread on the Firearms Museum of Texas located in the Brown County Museum.
The Lyric cover story outlines the history of the downtown theater and explains the current effort to restore it to its proper glory. The Hill Country Magazine article also gives an overview of the Lyric Performing Arts Company and their past and present theatrical performances.
Artistic Director for the Lyric Performing Arts Company Dr. Nancy Jo Humfeld stated that being featured on the cover story is quite a publicity opportunity for the Lyric.
“I’m thrilled with the cover story in Hill Country Magazine. This is a huge boost to the Lyric – getting this kind of exposure out to folks in our great state. We hope it will encourage a lot of visitors to check out Brownwood and our Lyric productions,” said Dr. Humfeld. “We are so proud of the company members who are involved with the Lyric and feel that it is really quality theatre. It is a delight to know that more folks will know about what we are doing and will hopefully come experience the Lyric personally.”
The three-page article on the Firearms Museum of Texas focuses on the current Guns of Empire exhibit displaying an impressive collection of firearms dating back to the 1700’s. The Hill Country Magazine article outlines details about the collection and the exhibit which runs through December.
The summer 2012 issue of Hill Country Magazine will be available on newsstands and at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce.
