The Brownwood Lions Varsity and JV Cross Country teams participated in the district cross country meet on Monday in Breckenridge. Several qualified to advance to the regional meet coming up in Lubbock on November 7.
The varsity boys team placed third advancing them to the regional cross country meet. Cameron McLaughlin advanced to regionals as an individual coming in with a time of 19:58 for the 3 mile run.
Others advancing to participate in the team regional event will be Jacob Moore – 20.35, Jacob Salazar – 20:37, Nic Rosato – 20:46, Quantez Johnson – 22:03 and Nathan Ross – 24:42 along with Matt Gonzales.
The varsity girls come in 4th place as a team and just missed qualifiying for regionals. Amanda Gober advanced as an individual with a time of 13:45 in a 2 mile run.
Other girls that ran included Sydnie Darden – 14:18, LoveLeigh Gonzales – 14:40, Kaitlyn Haynes – 14.49, Larissa Salazar – 15:02, Aranda Salazar – 15:21, and Addie Shipley – 16:13.
