Ward 2 Councilman H.D. Jones has notified the city that he intends to resign as Councilman at next week’s Brownwood City Council Meeting. A city briefing sheet indicates that Jones has moved into a new home and is no longer a resident of Ward 2 which requires him to resign his position on the council. City officials indicate that Jones’ new residence is located in Ward 1. The vacancy will have to be filled with a special election in the coming months.
