Brownwood News – The Brownwood City Council will meet at 9:30 Tuesday morning, July 23.
The City Hall Council Chamber is being renovated so the meeting will be held at Brownwood Municipal Court at 1050 West Commerce.
The meeting agenda is as follows:

Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

A. Conduct a Public Hearing and consider an Ordinance on first reading regarding the keeping of chickens in the City Limits.

A. Consider approval to vote for Mayor, Stephen Haynes, as representative for Region 6 on TML-IEBP Board of Trustees.
11. Consent Agenda
A. Consider authorizing the City Manager to sign an agreement and any subsequent addendums, amendments, and acceptance of additional funds during the term of the contract with the Texas Department of State Health Services on behalf of the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department to provide the Women Infant and Children’s Nutritional Program to our community.
12. Executive Session
The City Council may convene into a closed executive session in the Jury Room, pursuant to the provisions of the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Government Code Vernon’s Annotated, in accordance with the authority contained in the following section:
Section 551.071 – Consultation with Attorney
Section 551.087 – Deliberations regarding economic development negotiations
A. Discuss a possible loan/incentive for a local manufacturing company.
13. Action as a result of the Executive Session
Council will reconvene into Regular Session in the Municipal Court Chambers to take any action deemed necessary as a result of the Executive Session:
A. Council may consider entering into a Chapter 380 Agreement with VRC Technologies for a financial incentive to assist an expansion for the business.
