Brownwood News – The Brownwood City Council will hold a Regular Called Meeting at 9:00 am on Tuesday, September 10, at City Hall Council Chambers, 501 Center Ave. The agenda is as follows:

6. Citizen’ Presentations
Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda .item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

9. Public Hearing
A. Council shall hold a public hearing on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues from properties on the tax roll by 3.4% by adopting the proposed tax rate of$.7869 per $100 value.

10. Requests and Presentations
A. Consider authorizing the Mayor to write a letter from the City of Brownwood to Brown County Home Solutions providing official approval and support of Legacy Village.
B. Approve supporting the Census by becoming a Census Partner.

11. Ordinances and Resolutions
A. Consider a resolution approving the Brownwood Municipal Development District 2019/2020 annual budget.
B. Consider a resolution approving the continued receipt of the City’s share of bingo prize fees.

12. Consent Agenda
A. Consider an ordinance on second and third/final reading regarding a negotiated settlement between Atmos Cities Steering Committee and Atmos Energy regarding the 2019 rate review mechanism filing.
B. Consider a resolution authorizing submission of a Downtown Revitalization Program grant application and authorizing the Mayor and City Manager as authorized representatives.
C. Consider a resolution determining a slum and blighted area in the Downtown District.
D. Consider adoption of a citizen participation plan and grievance procedures related to CDBG grant projects.

13. Agreements and Contracts
A. Consider authorizing the City Manager to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Brownwood and Keep Brownwood Beautiful for the 2019/2020 fiscal year.

14. Appointments
A. Consider Mayoral appointments to the Brown County Appraisal District, Brownwood Housing Authority, Brownwood Municipal Development District, and the Center for Life Resources.

16. Executive Session
The City Council may convene into a closed executive session in the Haynes Conference Room, pursuant to the provisions of the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Government Code Vernon’s Annotated, in accordance with the authority contained in the following section:

A. Sewer line located at 113 Early Boulevard.

Action as a result of the Executive Session
Council will reconvene into Regular Session in the Council Chambers to take any action deemed necessary as a result of the Executive Session.
