Brownwood City Council Agenda Regular Called Meeting

The City Council of the City of Brownwood, Texas, reserves the right to meet in closed, executive session on any of the items listed below should the need arise and if authorized by Title 5, Chapter 551, of the Texas Government Code.

The City Council may deliberate and/or act on the following items:

1. Call to Order

2. Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation -to commemorate 9-1 1 Led by the Fire and Police Honor Guard who will present the colors; give the Pledge of Allegiance; and Invocation will be given by the Fire Department Chaplain.

5. Citizen Presentations

Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

9. Consent Agenda

A. Consider authorizing the Mayor to sign a vendor’s agreement for 2012 Home Delivered Meals with the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.

B. Consider a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with TxDOT for temporary closure of FM 2524 (Austin Avenue) from Fisk Avenue to Center Avenue for the Howard Payne Homecoming Parade on October 13,2012.

C. Consider authorizing the Mayor to execute a quitclaim deed to Connie Dewbre and Nancy Morrison granting a parcel of land located in the Idlewi Id Addition. 12

10. Ordinances and Resolutions

A Council may consider an ordinance on first reading adopting the FY 2012/2013 City of Brownwood annual budget.

B. Council may consider an ordinance on first reading levying taxes for the year 2012 for the City of Brownwood.

C. Council may consider an ordinance onfirst reading setting utility rates for FY 2012/2013 for the City of Brownwood.

O. Council may consider an ordinance on first reading setting fees, rentals, licenses and permits for FY 2012/2013 for the City of Brownwood.

E. Consider a Resolution approving the BEOC 2012/13 annual budget.

11. Agreements and Contracts

A. Consider an extension of a lease agreement with Brad Simpson.

B. Consider approving the Meet and Confer Agreement between the City of Brownwood and the Brownwood Professional Firefighters Association for a two year term from October 12,2012 through September 30,2014.

12. Appointments

A. Consider ratification of a Mayoral appointment to the Fireman’s Relief and Retirement Board and re-appointments to the Brownwood Housing Authority Board.

14. Executive Session The City Council may convene into a closed executive session in the Haynes Conference Room, pursuant to the provisions of the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Government Code Vernon’s Annotated, in accordance with the authority contained in the following section:
