Brownwood City Council Agenda

Regular Called Meeting – 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 27, 2015 – Council Chambers, City Hall, 501 Center Avenue, Brownwood, Texas.

The City Council of the City of Brownwood, Texas, reserves the right to meet in closed, executive session on any of the items listed below should the need arise and if authorized by Title 5, Chapter 551, of the Texas Government Code.

The City Council may deliberate and/or act on the following items:

Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time.  The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act. The Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

Conduct a public hearing on each of the proposed Ordinance and consider the Ordinance

on.first reading.

A. Conduct a Public Hearing and consider an Ordinance on first readingclosing/abandoning Sixth Street between Coggin Avenue and Avenue E and the alley from Sixth Street to Seventh Street between Coggin Avenue and Avenue E.

10. Requests and Presentations

A. Consider ratification of BEDC Board action for approval of a consulting contract With Decision Analytics to coordinate a rail project to benefit Lortscher Animal Nutrition, Inc.

B. Consider ratification of the BEDC Board’s approval of the annual business services contract with the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce.

11. Ordinances and Resolutions

A. Consider an Ordinance on .first reading prohibiting parking along the following sections of Calvert Road: along the east side of Calvert Road from Horseshoe Trail, north 75′; along the West side of Calvert Road beginning 75′ north of Horseshoe Trail to Milam Drive; and along the east side of Calvert Road from Sundown to Milam Drive.

B. Consider an Ordinance on .first reading approving the FY 2014/2015 budget amendments.

C. Consider a Resolution declaring six 8’ Formica tables and forty cloth chairs as surplus property and authorize the disposition of said items.

12. Bids

A. Consider awarding a bid to Utility Service Co., Inc. of Perry, GA for the Roanoke Tank recoating project in the amount of $308,400 and authorize the City Manager to sign related documents.

13. Agreements and Contracts

A. Consider an agreement with the Texas Department of Agriculture “Texans Feeding Texans:  Home Delivered Meal Grant Program.”

B. Consider authorizing the Mayor to sign the Senior Nutrition Program Contractor Funding Agreement Extension and Amendment for 2015/2016 Congregate & Home Delivered Meals with West Central Texas Area Agency on Aging.
