The City Council of the City of Brownwood, Texas, reserves the right to meet in closed, executive session on any of the items listed below should the need arise and if authorized by Title 5, Chapter 551, of the Texas Government Code.

The City Council may deliberate and/or act on the following items:

1. Call to Order

2.  Executive Session:
The City Council may convene into a closed executive session in the Haynes Conference Room, pursuant to the provisions of the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Government Code Vernon’s Annotated, in accordance with the authority contained in the following section:
Section 551.074 – Personnel Matters
A.  Consider a candidate for Chief of Police

Council will reconvene into regular session in the Council Chambers at 9:00 a.m.

6. Introductions, Announcements, and Recognitions
A.  The Oath of Office and Law Enforcement Oath of Honor will be given by the City Secretary and Police Chief to Jesse Mares who was promoted to Corporal.

A.  Upon a recommendation by the City Manager, consider confirming the appointment of a new Police Chief.

8.  Proclamations
A.  Flood Awareness Week
B.  Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month

9.  Citizen Presentations
Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

A.  Consider and Ordinance on second and third readings for a negotiated settlement between the Atmos City Steering Committee (ASCS) and Atmos Energy Corp., Mid-Tex Division regarding the company’s 2016 rate review mechanism filings.

A.  Consider a Resolution to declare a trash truck as surplus property.

14.  Agreements and Contracts
A.  Consider authorizing the Mayor to sign a fifth amendment to a lease with the Federal Express Corporation.

15.  Reports
A.  Texas Water Conservation Scorecard.

B.  The Willis Creek Channelization Study Presentation by the Corp of Engineers and Speak for the Creek will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Depot.

C.  The City will be closed for Memorial Day, Monday May 30, 2016.
