Brownwood City Council Agenda – Regular Called Meeting

9:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2015 – Council Chambers, City Hall – 501 Center Avenue, Brownwood, Texas

The City Council of the City of Brownwood, Texas, reserves the right to meet in closed, executive session on any of the items listed below should the need arise and if authorized by Title 5, Chapter 551, of the Texas Government Code.

The City Council may deliberate and/or act on the following items:

Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

9. Public Hearing

Conduct a public hearing on the proposed Ordinance and consider the Ordinance on first reading.
A.  Conduct a public hearing and consider an Ordinance on first reading to close and abandon a portion of Vine Street between Quail Run and Willis Creek.

10. Ordinances and Resolutions

A.  Consider an Ordinance on first reading amending the rules and regulations of the Brownwood Regional Airport to eliminate the requirement to obtain a permit from the Airport Board for commercial activity, to establish a registration requirement for persons performing commercial activity and to eliminate the requirement to obtain commercial insurance to perform commercial activity at the Airport.

11.  Agreements and Contracts

A.  Consider approving a public improvement development agreement with Hutchins Construction Company authorizing City labor and equipment participation in construction of Fourth Street in the Gibson Addition.

12.  Requests and Presentations

A.  Consider authorizing an expenditure from reserves in the amount of $11,500 to Sunbelt Pools for repairs to the Camp Bowie Aquatic Center.

B.  Consider authorizing the expenditure of funds for emergency replacement of a pump at the Slayden lift station up to $35,000.

C.  Consider extending the term of the agriculture lease on approximately 218 acres owned by the City located on FM 45 to coincide with the term of the hunting lease for the same property.
