Brownwood News – The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host a welcome reception for new Howard Payne University President Dr. Cory Hines on Thursday, May 16th at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce offices located at 600 E. Depot Street in Brownwood.
The come-and-go reception will be held from 4-5:30 PM. Refreshments will be served.
Dr. Hines earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Education from HPU in 1997, followed by a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2000 and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Leadership Studies with a focus in Higher Education from Dallas Baptist University in 2012.
Dr. Hines has held a variety of positions in multiple departments over his career including the following: vice president of enrollment, vice president in the areas of advancement, graduate affairs, external affairs, and alumni and community relations. He has taught as well as provided leadership in the creation of several graduate programs at Dallas Baptist University.
His extensive experience in education, administration and ministry has well prepared him for this role.
Cory and his wife, Melinda, have a daughter, Mackenzie, and a son, Caleb.
