The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce officially launched its 2012 Total Resource Campaign (TRC) on Tuesday, February 7th with a kick-off event sponsored by Humphrey Pete’s restaurant.
Under the leadership of campaign chairman Putter Jarvis and co-chair Rex Tackett, five teams were assembled to reach a goal of $100,000 in Chamber sponsorship sales.
“Seize the opportunity, the motivation to help the Chamber,” Tackett told volunteers during the kick-off. “But really to help the community in which we live and which we work and where we make our living.”
The TRC is designed to give Chamber members an array of opportunities to become more involved with the organization in new ways through greater public awareness of Chamber programs, projects, and events. The TRC also makes it easier for businesses to budget for the coming year and helps improve the efficiency of Chamber activities.
In addition to the traditional Chamber sponsorship opportunities, officials announced new opportunities including a new mobile app as well as an ice skating rink which will be open to the public during the 2012 Christmas Under the Stars Festival. Through the TRC, a menu of sponsorship opportunities will be available to help create a customized sponsorship plan for any sized business.
Through the five teams, dozens of volunteers will compete for cash, prizes, and a trip to New Orleans. Over a seven-week period, beginning February 7, these volunteers will work with Chamber members to design a customized sponsorship plan for the entire year. Those who sponsored something through the TRC last year can expect to be contacted soon to renew that sponsorship.
