The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual law enforcement appreciation luncheon on Friday, May 20th to show appreciation to everyone who works to protect residents of Brown County.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office recognized three of their officers for their years of superior service to the county. Brown County Sheriff Bobby Grubbs recognized Billy Arp, Emmett Matthews, and Valton Posey during the event. Posey was commemorated for 31 years of service to the sheriff’s office while Matthews commemorated 26 years, and Arp, 22 years. (Pictured at top).
Brown County Water Improvement District’s Lake Patrol officer Lt. Troy Henderson was also honored. He was given an award for his quick response in administering CPR to a Lake Brownwood resident on October 7, 2010. Lake Patrol Chief Bob Pacatte said that Henderson’s quick response saved the man’s life. Photo below shows Chief Pacatte presenting the award to Henderson.
Chief Mike Corley of the Brownwood Police Department and Chief David Mercer of the Early Police Department also recognized and thanked all of their officers for their hard work serving their communities.
