The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual law enforcement appreciation luncheon on Friday, May 16th at the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church Connection Center.  Each law enforcement official enjoyed a free lunch courtesy of several local businesses.

Several law enforcement agencies were recognized during the event and some of those agencies presented department awards.

The Brown County Sheriff’s office presented a pair of awards.  The department’s Outstanding Deputy of the Year went to Jim Cornelius (pictured at top with Sheriff Bobby Grubbs) and their Rookie of the Year was presented to John Gramling (pictured below with Sheriff Grubbs).

The Bangs Police Chief Troy Grusendorf presented their Officer of the Year award to Bangs Police Officer Andre Smoot (Pictured above).

The Brownwood Police Department presented their Employee of the Year award to Communications Dispatcher Jim Hicks.

The Center for Life Resources also presented multiple awards to various law enforcement agencies in attendance.

The Chamber recognized 16 local law enforcement agencies and judicial departments that serve in Brown County including the Brownwood Police Department, Early Police Department, Bangs Police Department, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Patrol, Brown County Constables, Brown County Justice of the Peace, Texas Department of Public Safety, Howard Payne University Department of Public Safety, Brownwood Fire Marshal Buddy Preston, Adult Probation, Juvenile Probation, County Court-at-Law, Brown County Attorney, District Attorney’s office, and 35th District Court.

The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce holds this luncheon each year in May to recognize the hard work, sacrifice and dedication from local law enforcement.
