Saturday, September 18th, the Brownwood Bow Hunters Association will be hosting a range day which will be open to the public for anyone who may be interested in an introduction to archery.

A few 3-D and bag targets will be set up and a wealth of shooting and tuning knowledge will be on site.

Local Pro Archer Gene Curry and several others will be available to answer questions and provide tuning help for any area bow hunters who may want it in preparation for the upcoming Bow season October 2nd.

“Curry will cover topics of arrow building (fletching), rest adjustment, broad head tuning etc., and give tips for making that one perfect shot necessary for a successful season,” stated Jimmy Fisher,
President of the Brownwood Bow Hunters Association.

The gate will be open at 8:00am on Saturday the 18th of September and the event will go until lunch, possibly afterward depending on the crowd numbers.  Visitors are welcome to bring their bows.  Broadhead shooting will be allowed, but only with a range official present and at a specified set of targets.

The Brownwood Bow Hunters Association’s range is located 1 mile south of Richmon Farm Supply & the National Guard Armory on Hwy 45, on the right side just past the land fill’s main gate.  Once through the gate, follow the road down to the main grounds.
