The Brownwood Bass Club held their annual Bass Club Awards Banquet at the Girl Scouts Office on Saturday January 21st. President Bruce Toeppich presented the year-end awards.
At the end of each year, the Bass Club gives awards for the top 10 places in the men’s division along with a Men’s Big Bass of the Year award, an award for the biggest Individual stringer of the year (5 fish limit) weighed in and also an award for the Team Stinger (10 fish limit). There is also an award for the Ladies Angler of the Year and for the Junior Angler of the Year.
This year’s race for the Men’s Angler of the Year award was close. Steve Butler won the race by 1.80 pounds over Mark Doremus who finished second place.
The awards given were as follows:
Angler of the Year – Steve Butler with 91.60 lbs (pictured above right)
Big Bass of the Year – Steve Butler with 11.30 lbs
2nd place – Mark Doremus with 89.90 lbs
3rd place – Brandon Anglin with 80.27 lbs
4th place – Robert Brown with 74.87 lbs
5th place – Bruce Toeppich with 72.70 lbs
6th place – Joey Wynn with 67.58 lbs (not pictured)
7th place – Tony Sanchez with 62.46 lbs
8th place – Danny Webb with 57.99 lbs
9th place – Andy Campbell with 56.83
10th place – Ben Villalpando with 52.71 lbs
Ladies Angler of the Year – Jennetta Toeppich with 32.73 lbs
Junior Angler of the Year – Steven Armstrong with 28.09 lbs
Individual Stringer of the Year – (5 fish limit) Joey Wynn with 29.47 lbs (not pictured)
Team Stringer of the Year – (10 fish limit) Joey Wynn & Taylor Darden with 31.50 lbs (not pictured)
