Brownwood Athletes Advance to State – Regional Track Meet Results Day 2

Brownwood Lions and Lady Lions made a great showing on day two of the Region 1-3A track meet at the Fuller Track Complex at Texas Tech University in Lubbock on Tuesday.   The Lions took 3^rd place overall in the meet while the Lady Lions team came in 6^th.

Lion Jaxon Shipley earned state berths in four events (110 hurdles, sprint relay, long jump, 300 hurdles) while Brownwood’s Derek Longoria did so in two events (discus and sprint relay).

Lady Lion senior Clemitra Smiley will make a state appearance in the 100 taking first place in Tuesday’s regional final.   Brownwood’s Josh Reese took second place in the 400 and the Lions 400 relay team took gold with a 42.26 time.
