Brownwood News – The VFW Auxiliary of Brownwood recently participated in the state-wide Patriotic Art contest for grades 9-12. Kathyrine Bryanne Chisum placed 1st and was awarded $300. Her artwork advanced to District where it placed 3rd. Brieanna Tucknott placed 2nd and was awarded $200. Isabella Faz placed 3rd and was awarded $100.

“Each student created an original work of art that they felt represented patriotism. They also wrote a short essay based on how they feel patriotism can be expressed through art,” said BHS Art teacher, Kimberly Van Huss. “I am so proud of these girls for entering the patriotic art contest and showing pride for their country.”
