The StudentExhibits2016Brownwood Art Association will hold a special reception on Thursday, May 5th from 5-8 p.m. in the Art Building at 215 Fisk Avenue in downtown Brownwood. The Art Association will showcase the outstanding work of the students of Julie Mize, Brownwood Middle School teacher and BAA member. In honor of Cinco de Mayo, and leading up to the downtown festival Friday, May 6th celebrating that event, the reception will include various Mexican appetizers and refreshing limeade. There will be no alcohol served at this event because it is a school exhibit.

The Art Association will continue to exhibit the work of local young artists with Jacque Rider and the art of her Early Intermediate School students during the second week of May. The Art Association will then exhibit Tasha Carter’s Early High School art classes during the third week of May for a total of three unique exhibits in one month.

The gallery will be open Friday 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., and Sunday 2 – 4 p.m. during those weeks.
