ArtAssociationLogoThe Brownwood Art Association will be holding their monthly meeting with demonstrating artist Mary Lambeth Saturday November 13th from 1:30-3:30pm.  The meeting will be held at the Art Center 215 Fisk in downtown Brownwood and is free and open to the public.

Lambeth was born in Lubbock, Texas and graduated from R. E. Lee High School, Midland, Texas in 1976.  She received her BBA in Accounting from Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas and BFA Painting from Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona.  Her Masters Art Education was at Texas Tech, University, Junction, Texas.

Lambeth was a Previous Art Appreciation and Art History professor in Lone Star College system, Houston, Texas and has been exhibiting and competing in regional, national, and international competitions since the early1980s.

A 2010 inductee into the Texas Watercolor Society, Lambeth enjoys working in several different mediums besides watercolor such as oils, acrylics, graphite, colored pencils, and clay.   She will be talking about her inspiration and demonstrating her shrine building techniques which involve multiple materials such as wood, glass, hand built porcelain tiles, found objects, small watercolors, drawings, tin, and copper – to name a few.  Her current work has been inspired by both an aunt that was a china painter and the traditional Mexican retablo.
