mrowens1Many alumni from Brownwood High School took time out to enjoy not only an exciting football game, but also to catch up with the school and town that they once called home.

One alumnus of note who enjoyed homecoming festivities was 93-year-old Bernard Owens.  Mr. Owens graduated from Brownwood High School in 1933 and is believed to be the oldest living Brownwood graduate.

Owens travelled from his home in San Antonio to participate in Brownwood’s homecoming weekend.  He was recognized at halftime at the football game Friday night and at the Lions pep rally earlier that afternoon.

There were also a pair of classes enjoying reunions over the weekend as well.  The class of 1969 celebrated their 40 year reunion and the class of 1989 celebrated their 20th.  Both classes came to enjoy the game, take a tour of Brownwood High School, and catch up with old friends.

The football game itself will undoubtedly be something they talk about for some time to come.
