The Brown County Fair Association board of directors and finance committee cordially invites all current, past, and interested bidders/contributors to join the fun in giving back to Brown County’s youth through the annual premium sale which wraps up the weeklong Youth Fair.
This year’s premium sale of the Brown County Youth Fair will begin at 5:00 p.m. Saturday inside the fair barns.
Top bidders for the 2013 premium sale provided a significant amount of the premium money to sale participants/exhibitors according to Finance Committee Chairman Gayland Miller. These top bidders from last year are as follows, according to BCFA officials:

9. Tri County Propane Service, Craig Hill
10. Loadcraft Industries, LTD., James Simmons
“These top 10 from last year made up 1/3 of the total money for premiums and are integral to the success of the Youth Fair,” said Miller. He also explained that there are many other buyers that contribute each year, as both businesses and individuals, helping to support the youth of Brown County.
There are also volunteers and community leaders who, along with the BCYA finance committee, contribute bids to the sale in the form of the community fund, which combines donations to cover the floor price of an animal ranging from $400-$2500.
For those who are unable to attend the sale but would like to make a donation or have absentee bid(s) placed, please contact one of the finance committee members listed below.
Many exhibitors rely on the funds from the Brown County Youth Fair Premium Sale to help offset expenses not only incurred raising the animal for the county show, but also for travel to major livestock shows. Some exhibitors use the money they earn as a savings for college according to some parents involved in the fair.
