The Brown County Tax Assessor Collector’s office located in the Brown County Courthouse will close at noon on Wednesday, March 7th according to Tax Assessor Collector Cheryl Nelson.
Nelson said in a news release that the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles in Austin requested the early closure on Wednesday for equipment upgrades. New equipment for all workstations in the office will be installed causing the office to shut down for a half-day.
Nelson said that they will reopen on Thursday, March 8th at 8:30am. Nelson said that they apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
