On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, Lt. Pete Bastardo, attempted to stop a reckless driver coming in from Colman County. The vehicle failed to stop for emergency units. After several attempts to deploy spikes, the vehicle made it to Abilene. This is where the driver, identified as Matthew Lee Hudspeth, was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle State Jail Felony. Hudspeth was transported back to Brown County, where he was released to jail staff.
On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at about 7:11 P.M., Deputy Simpson responded to FM 3021. This was in regards to a welfare check. Deputy Simpson noticed a male subject, lying on the kitchen floor. Deputy Simpson made entry into the residence. the subject was transported to the BRMC by LifeGuard EMS.
On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at approximately 4:52 P.M., Deputy Hammonds, spoke with the victim. This was about property, which had been stolen out of a camping trailer the victim owned. A report was made.
On Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at approximately 8:12 P.M., Deputy Hammonds, was dispatched to Mountain View Dr., May, TX. This was in reference to an accidental discharge. A report was made.
On Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at approximately 12:01 P.M., Deputy Hammonds, was dispatched to CR 381, Early, TX. This was about a suspicious message on a cell phone. A report was made.
On Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at approximately 12:58 p.m., Deputy Scotty Burke, was dispatched to the Kohler Company, S US 377 in Brownwood, TX. This was in reference to a terroristic threat report and investigation. Complainant advised an UNKNOWN suspect wrote a threatening message on the men’s bathroom wall of a local company. The report will follow.
On Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at approximately 1:00 P.M., Deputy Byron Langley, arrived at FM 586 W in Brownwood, TX. This was in regards to a burglary. Langley spoke to the victim, who stated someone had taken property from a storage building without his consent.
On Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at about 5:00 P.M., Deputy Simpson responded to the Law Enforcement Center in regards to a walk-in. victim who stated a suspect had retaliated against her for an incident on January 29, 2019. A report was made.
On February 6, 2019, at about 10:31 pm, Deputy Simpson responded to CR 475. This was in regards to deadly conduct. A witness stated a bullet had struck his residence. Deputy Simpson made contact with Detrick Jomont Henry at CR 470. Henry admitted to shooting the pistol that was found on scene. Henry is a known felon and had possession of the firearm. Henry was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon. A report was made.
