Flores-CodyMBrown County Sheriff’s Office recently released search warrants related to the investigation of the capital murder investigation of 17-year-old Cody Michael Flores.  In the warrants, BCSO directs the seizure and forensic examination of clothing, a laptop and two cell phones used by Flores.

The warrants state that these items will be examined to find possible evidence related to the September 17, 2016 murders of Flores’ father, 42-year-old Abuith Adrian Flores, and his stepmother, 53-year-old Ophelia Lucio in their home near Lake Brownwood.

The laptop was used by Flores in Accellerated Center Education (ACE) classes at Bangs Independent School District, according to the warrant.  BCSO discovered that Flores had multiple Facebook accounts and may have used this computer to communicate with others regarding the murders or to research information that could be used as evidence.

One seized cell phone was the one Flores used initially to report a break in and the deaths of his parents, which was found to be a false story Flores constructed before confessing to BCSO investigators during the investigation the night of the murders that he was responsible for both persons’ deaths, the warrant states.  Another cell phone was located in Cody Flores’ bedroom.  The warrants describe that Abuith Flores and Ophelia Lucio were killed in the early morning hours as they slept and suffered bullet wounds to their heads.

Clothing Flores wore the night of the murders was also seized from the Brown County Jail Inmate Property Room.  Forensic studies will be conducted on these as well to find possible chemicals released by firearms as they are shot, body fluids, and other evidence that could relate to the murders and be used as evidence.

Flores remains in the Brown County Jail held on $500,000 bond.
