Brownwood News – The following calls for service were answered in recent days by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

On January 24, at about 17:10 hours, Deputy Simpson responded to Early Blvd.  This was in regards to terroristic threat.  Upon arriving on scene, Deputy Simpson spoke with the victim who advised on the 23rd of January, while at Early Blvd, a man had called him on the phone and threatened to “whoop his butt to where he would not make it into the hospital”.  The victim stated he was in fear for his life and serious bodily injury.  A report was made.

On January 24, at about 19:31 hours, Deputy Simpson responded to the area of FM 2525.  This was in regards to a subject walking down the side of the road.  Upon arriving in the area, Deputy Simpson located the male subject walking down the wrong side of the road towards FM 2126.  Upon speaking with the man, Deputy Simpson detected a slight odor of marijuana.  The man admitted to having a baggie of marijuana and a marijuana smoking pipe on him.  He was placed in custody and taken to Brown County Jail for Class B Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana < 2 oz.  The total weight of marijuana, which the man was in possession of, was 1.8 grams.

On January 25, deputies responded to Cherokee Drive in May, Texas for a report that a man was being harassed by multiple neighbors.  A report was made.

On January 25, deputies were dispatched to an address on U.S. Highway 183 North and to an address on Early Blvd.  This was in regards to a domestic disturbance which turned into multiple assaults.  Both sides of the domestic disturbance have claimed assault from the other side.  Reports have been made.

On Saturday, January 25, at about 17:17 hours, Deputy Simpson responded to County Road 198.  This was in regards to loose sheep.  Upon location the sheep, which had already been penned up, Deputy Simpson attempted to locate the owner without success.  The deputy had it arranged for the sheep to be Estrayed on Sunday, January 26.  On Sunday dispatch was notified the owner of the sheep was located.  A report was made.

On January 25, a report of theft was made in the 900 Block of County Road 175 in Bangs.  The Mukewater Cemetery caretaker reported four metal gates and a footstone was stolen.  A report was made.

On Sunday, January 26, at approximately 09:15, Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Main in Blanket, Texas.  This was in reference to an accident where the vehicle had left the scene.

On January 8, Deputy Hammonds was patrolling the area of CR 352 in Blanket and observed violations of THSC 341 and 343.  A report was made.

On Friday, January 17, at 10:05 hours, Deputy Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to the Law Enforcement Center in regards to debit/credit card abuse.  Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with a woman who said an unknown person had made purchase with her debit card.  A report was taken.

On January 17, at approximately 14:42 hours, while on uniformed patrol in a marked Brown County Sheriff’s Office patrol unit, Deputy M. Davis was dispatched to respond to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters lobby.  This was to take an in-person report regarding a prior theft on County Road 607.

On January 17, at approximately 18:17 hours, Corporal Hopson was dispatched to the 5000 Block of County Road 257.  This was for a Criminal Mischief report.  The incident is still being investigated.

On January 19, Deputy Toby Mathis spoke to a woman by phone.  This was in regards to her ex-boyfriend sending intimate material of her by Facebook.  Information was gathered and a report was made.

On January 19, Deputy Toby Mathis responded to Jackson Lane for a 911 hang up.  Dispatch advised screaming could be heard prior to the call ending.  Deputies arrived and an Assault Class C report was taken.

On January 19, at approximately 19:15 hours, Cpl. Hopson responded to County Road 228/County Road 237.  This was for illegal dumping.  The incident is still being investigated.

On Monday, January 20, at approximately 14:48 hours, Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to the LEC.  This was in reference to a found property report and investigation from FM 3100 Early.

On January 21, at about 09:21 hours, Deputy Byron Langley arrived in the 11,000 block of County Road 225 in Brownwood.  This was in regards to theft.  The deputy spoke to a man with Brown County Precinct 1 who stated someone had taken diesel fuel from two precinct vehicles parked on CR 225.

On Tuesday, January 21, at about 15:56 hours, Deputy Simpson and Lt. Bastardo received information that a man had a warrant out of Pardon and Parole.  Information was given that the suspect was at the corner of Coggin Avenue and 2nd Street.  Upon arriving in the area, the suspect was located at Coggin Avenue on a bicycle.  The subject was taken into custody for the warrant and bicycle was transported to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.  The subject was taken to the Brown County Jail.
