Brownwood News – The Brown County Sheriff’s Department has responded to the following calls for service in the last 10 days.
On April 6, at about 11:05 hours, Deputy Hammonds and Deputy Bastardo responded to a call of a weapons offense. An information report was made on FM 1176 in Brookesmith.
On Tuesday, April 7, Lt. Pete Bastardo checked on a parked vehicle on Pitts Lane. Contact was made with a man who was later found to be in possession of 1.1 grams of marijuana without packaging. He was also operating a vehicle without the assigned license plate to it. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under two ounces along with wrong, fictitious, altered or obscured license plate. He was taken to Brown County Jail without further incident.
During a warrant service, a woman was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. She attempted to destroy a clear glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant and was additionally charged with Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence.
On April 8, at around 15:47 hours, Deputy Ashley Harris responded to a call for Criminal Mischief at County Road 190 at Bangs. Brown County Precinct One employees reported the glass was broken on county work equipment. The equipment was parked on County Road 189. A report was made.
On Thursday, April 9, at approximately 8:27 am, Deputy Scotty Burke met with a complainant at the Law Enforcement Center in reference to a scam report and investigation involving Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information on County Road 213, Brookesmith.
On April 9, Deputy Mason Fabbiani made an arrest on a man for Parole Warrant. Probable Cause was developed for his vehicle in which methamphetamine was located. He was charged with Manufacture and Delivery of Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone and taken to Brown County Jail.
On April 9, deputies were dispatched to an address on County Road 574. This was in regards to a terroristic threat. It was determined the subjects had an argument and one of the subjects was hit with something. No injuries or marks were reported or seen. A report has been issued.
On April 10, at approximately 16:29 hours, Cpl. Hopson responded to County Road 235 for a 4-wheeler wreck. The incident was documented in this report.
On Sunday, April 12, at 10:11 hours, Deputy Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to Belfast Drive in Brownwood in regards to a theft in progress. Upon arrival, he spoke to a woman who advised that some unknown individuals drove on to Belfast Drive and stole a windmill. The property owner was identified and an information report was taken.
On April 12, at approximately 17:24 hours, Deputy M. Davis was dispatched to North U.S. Highway 279. This was regarding a reported prior burglary that occurred.
On Tuesday, April 14, at approximately 9:30 am, Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to FM 583 Rising Star in reference to a cow on the property which was not the property owner. The cow was picked up and transported to the Law Enforcement Center.
On April 14, Sgt. Joe Thomas was dispatched to a report of a Theft on Reagor Lane in Early. The complainant advised several tools had been stolen from a residence which was being remodeled. A report was made for Burglary of a Habitation.
On April 14, Deputy Mason Fabbiani was dispatched to an address on FM 3254. This was in regards to a possible theft. After investigation, it was determined there were court documents that are being used and a still in effect. A report has been done.
